Sydney Writers’ Festival is an event for everyone – including those who can’t make it down to Carriageworks during the Festival.
From conversations with literary luminaries to panel discussions on our world’s most urgent issues, we don’t want you to miss an insightful comment or witty joke that comes from our stages.
This year, we are streaming our events live from Bay 17 for everyone, wherever you are, to access at home. Watch along, send in questions directly to the Sydney stage and be a part of Sydney Writers’ Festival in 2025.

Thursday 22 May Day Pass
The Thursday Livestream Day Pass includes sessions from international and Australian writers sharing their memoirs, calls to action, genre fiction and conversations on the state of the novel.
Friday 23 May Day Pass
The Friday Livestream Day Pass includes sessions about family writing dynasties, crafting crime stories and memoirs on our love of sport. Fan favourite Queerstories also returns to the Festival stage on Friday night.
Saturday 24 May Day Pass
The Saturday Livestream Day Pass includes sessions ranging from baking to exploring cancel culture to diving head first into YA romances and a special conversation with master of crime Ian Rankin.
Sunday 25 May Day Pass
The Sunday Livestream Day Pass includes conversations covering the full range of human experiences from world politics to what makes a writer to crafting the perfect spy thriller.
- The Festival is streamed live and is not available for viewing after the advertised session times.
- The Sydney Writers' Festival Livestream is for personal, non-commercial use only.
- The Livestream feed will be live 15 minutes before the first event at the start of the day, until the end of the last event. All times are AEST.
- One Day Pass grants you one link to be viewed via one device only. If you have purchased multiple passes for one day, you will receive a single link that can be used on multiple devices.
